Mark Brill has been working as an innovator in digital media for over 20 years. He founded a web development business, Formation, in 1992, at the beginning of the internet revolution. Here, he took a creative lead in the company to deliver a range of large-scale online projects for brands, government agencies and major charities.
‘I believe strongly in the powers of technology and creativity together. Ideas and innovation are developed best when they are part of a collaborative process. There is no 'lightbulb' moment. Interactivos will bring a forum to foster this creativity in a cross-disciplinary environment.’
Shortly after the turn of the millennium, Mark saw the opportunities from mobile technologies becoming a media and marketing channel. With the emergence of social media alongside mobile, Mark has been a thought leader and in-demand consultant to global brands, helping them to understand how to create ideas to engage consumers in these channels. In contrast to his commercial work, Mark has worked with galleries and theatre directors to help them understand the creative potential of technologies.
Mark developed the Future Media Masters Course, and is Senior Lecturer in in the subject at Birmingham City University. He speaks regularly at conferences around the world.
‘My approach is one of learning by doing, to be experimental and push the boundaries. I feel that I bring expertise in creative technologies, and I am generous with my time and ideas.’
