Marina Castán

Marina Castán is Professor and researcher in fashion and textiles at ESDi. She has a MA in New Media Art Curating at ESDi MECAD, Ramon Llull University, and a Bachelor in Textile Design at ESDi Design School, Ramon Llull University (2005). She has a Postgraduate in Design and Innovation at Elisava School of Design, Pompeu Fabra University (2008). She was awarded by International Wool Textile Organisation (I.W.T.O) in the concept and innovation category (Wool World Award, 2006).

She was Involved in the international project The Touch Project (Gabrovo, 2011). Touch was an international art project that explored tactility in relation to knowlodge, creativity, cultural parctices and innovation in art. The project was supported by European Cultural Foundation.

She was Keynote Speaker in the Smart Fabrics Conference (Barcelona, 2013). She organised the seminars Interactive textiles, Advertising and Design, (Madrid European University, 2011), New materials for a new textile vision (Noovia School of Applied Science Turku, Finlandia, 2010), and the Technical Textiles Conference Weaving the future: new materials, new applications (ESDI, 2011).
