Hiroshi Yoshida is: He is one of the founders of Ritsumeikan Center for Game Studies (RCGS) in Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, which has been the one and only academic institute specialized in game studies in Japan, and he has been in charge of the director since it was established in April 2011.
He supervised the division of Entertainment in the Japan Media Arts Festival in Kyoto “Parallel World Kyoto,” organized by the Agency for Cultural Affairs and held in Kyoto, October to November 2011. He was the supervisor of the Game division and the moderator of general panels in the Media Arts Conferences “Regional Activation and the Media Arts in Ten Years Ahead,” organized by the Agency for Cultural Affairs and held in Tokyo, February 2012.
He was invited as discussant for the Third International Convention on Manga, Animation, Game and Media Art (ICOMAG2013) “The Possibility of Critique in Hybrid Cultures,” organized by the Agency for Cultural Affairs and held in Tokyo, February 2013. He has published a number of books and papers in aesthetics, art studies and game studies.
