AGENCIA_RV [AGENCY_VR] is a Medialab Prado Working Group whose purpose will be to investigate Narrative Virtual Reality, known as CVR, Cinematic Virtual Reality. Its aim is to study the contents and forms of virtual reality but focusing on its narrative possibilities in the field of fiction. What we want is to create a group of researchers and creators who review the current state of the narrative associated with virtual reality and are capable of proposing and creating an experience of this type. We start from the idea that virtual reality is a new cinematographic technology, an advance in its evolution comparable to the arrival of colour, or sound. La leishmaniosis es una enfermedad que afecta principalmente al perro, de hecho en la Comunidad de Madrid existe un alto porcentaje de perros infectados. This interactive video-installation Works on how we experiment and perceive the smile. Lien-Chen Wang searches the word “smile” on Google in order to collect facial expressions captured in all kind of moments. The outcome is a bunch of virtual images that have undergone an alienation process. The software used detects the spectator’s position through a camera so that everyone has to deal with a foreign smile in an impersonal and anonymous representation. This installation enables us to think about the mental process involved in an emotional response such as smiling. Behind these smiles, we find a software responsible for adjusting automatically all the images and put them together in the centre of the installation working on issues like autonomy, individualization and collective consciousness.
