In 2019, the work of the Interactivos? and the Data Journalism workshops is going to focus on the complex world of food, with reference to the SDGs.
This call for projects for the Data Journalism Workshop 2019: Follow the Food (Monday 25 - Friday 29 March 2019), shall be open until 9 January 2019. The call for collaborations shall be open until 16 March 2019.
Now in its seventh edition, it continues its work on the Sustainable Development Goals from the perspective of food, nutrition and all that that entails: gastronomy, how land is used, extractive industries, agriculture, livestock farming, fishing, forestry, fair trade, community trading, kilometre 0, diets, allergies, pollution, waste, traceability, transport, distribution and aquifers, among other issues.
This open call is aimed at anyone who wants to work on data-based storytelling on the proposed theme. Not just journalists but also people in the fields of programming, front/back end or full stack development, design, UX, sociology, anthropology, data visualisation, statistics, literature, geography, students, the unemployed, the self-employed, freelancers, pensioners, etc.
Among the novelties of this call we would point out that:
Registration is free.
The projects must at least meet these conditions:
The results and the source code must have free licenses that allow access and dissemination of the knowledge produced during the workshop.
Do you want to sign up for the workshop simply to work on one of the projects? The call for collaborations is open until Saturday 16 March 2019 although the projects that have been selected are announced on Monday 14 January 2019.
It is not mandatory but it is highly recommended to have an account at MedialabPrado website to start working with the projects selected through its website of the workshop. You can join at https://www.medialab-prado.es/user/login
