In collaboration with CentroCentro and its cycle: VANG. Músicas en vanguardia, our second AVLAB meeting of the year hosts a panel on the cycle's fifth concert's topic: "Sound disobediences" that will count with the presence of Karin Hellqvist, Heloisa Amaral, Dror Feiler, Julia Ramirez, José Luis
Disobediences in sound is a musical exploration of the convergence between sound, noise and resistance. Noise as a sound image that denies a pre-established (musical? social?) order, thus exposing other (utopic?) places for an aesthetic experience. Disobedience as a radical position, as dissidence, as the maximum consequence of a (sound?) resistance, and also as a search in the aesthetic field of that utopia that is denied to us from the social sphere.
Initiated by Duo Hellqvist / Amaral (violin and piano) with the composer and sound artist Alberto Bernal, the project brings together artists from different generations and geographies, who, from the duo's common platform for violin and piano with electronics, trace notably different around the idea of "sound disobedience", both for its approach and for the formats used.
After the concert they will offer the day before at CentroCentro (with works composed for the occasion of Marina Rosenfeld, Dror Feiler, Maria Salgado & Fran Cabeza de Vaca and Bodil Furu), The present event will propose a panel in which the question of the relationship between sound and resistance will be approached from multiple points of view: from political activism, artistic practices or the specific work of various composers.
In addition to Heloisa Amaral, Karin Hellqvist and Alberto Bernal, the panel will be attended by Julia Ramírez (historian and author of the book "Utopías artísticas de revuelta"), Dror Feiler(composer, saxophonist and activist) and José Luis Espejo ( mediateletipos, entzumen behatokia, charivaria).
The round table will be followed by a musical intervention by Dror Feiler (sax and electronics).
