Lowrider, Racing, DUB, HI-Tech, Import custom, Rat, Baroque, Extreme, JDM or Hot rod... The different car tuning practices show the diversity that some groups have manifested in relationship with the standardized idea of cars for everybody. Communities that intervene in a disruptive way on machines, putting forth differences and providing with new codes and information. Cars become instruments which generate new ties and affective networks with the people that interact with them.
