This project takes as its starting point the technical report produced by Deloitte to justify Amazon's layoffs in November 2025, which resulted in the elimination of 40.000 jobs worldwide, 978 of them were in the prototype author Irene Pietrella’s workplace. Far from treating it as an administrative document, the research approaches it as a political artefact: an assemblage of metrics, protocols and technical language capable of transforming a business decision into an apparent objective necessity. 

The proposal emerges from Pietrella’s simultaneous and situated position: visual artist, worker affected by the process, and trade union representative in the layoff negotiation. From that position of direct observation, the project accesses not only the content of the report but also the contradictions that emerge when comparing different corporate documents produced during the same period, and the way in which the institutional narrative was constructed and modified throughout the process. The report is used in the laboratory as an object of collective analysis within an artistic research context, without public reproduction of its content. It is shared with the working group in order to generate questions and debate. 

The central finding is that technological tools that for months were presented internally as operational support systems later appear as central arguments to justify labour substitution. The project proposal suggests that what should be analyzed is not whether these technologies work as claimed, but by observing the mechanisms through which they are attributed an objective and unquestionable authority. How a system becomes evidence. How a decision becomes a necessity.
