Science Gallery (SG) and Medialab-Prado (MP) publish a call for all those interested in participating in Interactivos?'12 Dublin: Hack the City. Current and Future Needs workshop as a collaborator in one of the workgroups that will develop the selected projects.

The collaborator is basic in the planning and development of the workshops at Medialab-Prado, thus these are conceived as spaces for collaborative work, knowledge exchange and theoretical and practical training. It is an environment in which there is a horizontal relationship among professors, developers and the collaborators.
According to its field of interest, each collaborator can be part of the development team in more than one of the selected proposals bringing his/her knowledge and ideas to the workgroup and, at the same time, learning from the group and the teachers.

As it is specified in the rules, the names of the collaborators will appear in the project’s credits. Also, SG y MP will give a document certifying the participation in the workshop to all the participants that request it.
The workshop runs from July 11 through July 26, 2012.

If you are interested, submit the form below before July 5, 2012 (see guidelines below).

If you have any questions, please check our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) or write to interactivos(at) medialab-prado.es or interactivos(at)sciencegallery.com

Appointment of participants in the workshop

There is no selection process for collaborators; all received applications will be accepted until capacity is filled. Once you have submitted your form, you will receive an automatic confirmation informing you that your data has been successfully received. This is your confirmation that you are able to take part in the workshop. However, please note that being allocated a place as a collaborator on the workshop, does not ensure that you will have accommodation in Dublin (please see below).

Accomodation

For participants that reside outside of of Dublin, Science Gallery will provide accommodation for a limited number of collaborators during the dates of the celebration of the workshop.

HOMESTAY is an experiment in hospitality taking place throughout the Hack the City festival at Science Gallery this summer by artist Fiona Hallinan. Up to 100 international artists will travel to Dublin city to present projects at the festival. HOMESTAY will offer an opportunity for some of those artists to stay with local hosts instead of in hotels or hostels.

*Update 14.06.2012: Since HOMESTAY availability is limited, the organization will provide a youth hostel for collaborators.

For collaborators who wish to sign up to be hosted in Dublin please make note of this fact in the form you submit before June 22, 2012.

Accommodation will be allocated on a first come first served basis and there are limited places available. Although the call for collaborators will remain open until July 5, 2012, Science Gallery and Medialab Prado will only be able to arrange accommodation for participants that sign up before June 22. Since lodging places are limited, signing in as a collaborator does not necessarily guarantee that you have a place. We will endeavour to assist participants that sign up after this date however, we will not be able to guarantee accommodation.

Don't forget to indicate on the form the dates of your stay (Maximum stay: check-in on July 10 and leaving on July 27), and whether you would like to avail of HOMESTAY. Science Gallery will get in touch with you for a final reservation.

Science Gallery and Medialab-Prado will not cover travelling or other expenses during the stay.

Forum

The Interactivos?'12 forum will enable advisors, developers, and collaborators to begin working before the start of the workshop in Dublin. The workshop participants will be able to contact the project’s developers and all the collaborators and raise questions, make comments and discuss other forms of collaborations. Final working groups will be established during the Project’s initial presentation on the workshop’s first day in Dublin.

 · Availability to participate in the workshop (a strong commitment for the duration of the workshop is recommended - it is an intensive workshop).
 · Title of the Project in which you would like to collaborate. We recommend you to participate in the Interactivos?'12 forum in order to contact the project developer and the other collaborators before the workshop.
- Accommodation requirements and preferences. Please state whether you would like to take part in homestay.

The workshop at Science Gallery is part of Studiolab, a 3-year Europe-wide initiative that merges the artist's studio with the research lab. Funded by the EC Seventh Framework Programme in 2011, Studiolab is a network that provides a platform for creative projects that bridge divides between science, art and design.
