Call for Papers

Selected papers will be publicly presented during the Interactivos?'10: Neighborhood Science seminar (June 7 - 23, 2010).

Submissions deadline: April 19, 2010
Notification of acceptance: April 28, 2010

 

Venue:

Medialab Prado, Madrid (C/ Alameda, 15 · 28014 Madrid, Spain)

 

Purpose of the call:

A maximum of 5 projects will be selected among theoretical and research papers, presentations and analysis of the experiences about the proposed subject matter. Chosen papers will be presented in public during LabtoLab Encounter, celebrated coinciding with the workshop June 7-11, 2010.

The open call is aimed at researchers, creators, educators and professionals of any field related to the theme of the event. 

 

Rules of Participants:

Everyone interested in participating in this symposium must send a summary of their research and a brief curriculum vitae via the submission form that you will find below. For a better evaluation of the applications, we recommend to send the complete text as an attached file, in addition to the summary.

Proposals may be presented as an individual or as a group. Each participant or team may present as many projects as they wish.

Only works in English or Spanish will be accepted.

• Originality and interest of the proposal
• Suitability to the general purpose of Interactivos? and to the specific objectives of this call
• Current status of the research process
• Educational value

 

Public Presentation:

Los trabajos seleccionados serán presentados públicamente por los autores en sesiones de 20 minutos más 10 minutos de debate.

Selected works will also be published at the Medialab-Prado website under Creative Commons By-SA. (A copy of this licence can be consulted at: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/es/)

Notwithstanding, all users may licence the use of their content under any licence scheme, preferably a free licence scheme to ensure wider dissemination. The licence applicable to the content should be clearly indicated on the corresponding work or publication.

 

Travel and Lodging Aid:

Pending application, Medialab-Prado will provide lodging at Mejía Lequerica Youth Hostel* for selected participants residing outside of Madrid and will cover travel expenses. In the case of collectives, Medialab-Prado will cover travel expenses for just one member.

 

Collaboration in the production workshop::

An advanced project production workshop will follow the seminar, as a continuation of the Interactivos?'09: Garage Science program. Multidisciplinary task groups composed of the author/s and interested collaborators will develop eight projects selected through an international open call. This workshop will take place January 30 through February 14, 2009.

Medialab-Prado encourages paper applicants to take part as collaborators in the workshop after the Seminar. The call for collaborators will be open from May 4 through June 4, 2010 at Medialab-Prado's website.
