Who can apply?

Any person, working group or entity intending to develop any investigation project that needs the collaboration of experts from other fields of knowledge.

Profiles: film makers, multimedia students, IT, communication science, publicity, artists, writers, and any person -creators and researchers- interested on Cinema and Visual Communication.

Note: This call aimed at anyone insterested and specially aimed at people from the context of Khartoum. Travel and lodging expenses will not be covered. Participants must bring their own computers.

 

Guidelines

Each project must identify:
  • objectives: what do I want to do
  • methodologies: how am I going to do it
  • collaboration demand: which kind of people do I need to do it (collaborators/participants).      

Projects must be multidisciplinary and have any kind of relation with any field of knowledge, science creation and contemporary thinking.

Forums and wikis related to each one of the projects will be available in this website, so that in the previous period to the workshop the collaborators can contact each other, present their profiles and solve all the questions related to each project. 

Any person interested in collaborating in the projects will be able to join them anytime. During the workshops work teams will be set up and collaborators' tasks will be distributed. The registration for participants will be open on November 12, 2011. However, participants can joing the projects anytime including the begining of the workshop, on November 28, 2011.

 

Aims of the workshops

  • Innovative research tools.
  • Propose a pattern for developing methodologies for training researchers, making them able to work on specific projects, collaboratively and interdisciplinary.
  • Implement projects made by Sudanese. 
  • Built and increase the capacity of the Sudanese intellectuals in cultural field.
  • Help them to improve their approach towards the filmmaking area. 
  • Improve the process and environment of filmmaking itself by offering concepts and tools of film critic. 

 

Schedule

Once the projects are selected, a 2nd Open Call will be launched requesting the participation of collaborators for each specific project (3 - 27 November, 2011).
   
From November 28 through December 1, an intensive face-to-face workshop will be held at the French Cultural Center from 9am to 15pm.

Professors invited: Karla Brunet and Juan Freire. With the assistance of Gabriel Perezzan and Aurea Martínez.
