Call for collaborators: faq

Who can participate as collaborator in a two-weeks production workshop?

Anyone that enjoys team working and wills to share skills and ideas in the development of any of the selected proposals, learning at the same time from the rest of the group and the workshop leaders. Medialab-Prado doesn't make a selection of collaborators; once those interested have applied, they can get in touch directly with the promotors of the projects through the online forum or just attend the initial presentation and decide in wich project they wish to collaborate.

What does this kind of workshop offer to those who participate as collaborators?

-An exceptional collaborative learning environment.
-As specified in the call for projects, contributions of collaborators will be acknowledged in the final prototype.
-During international intensive project development workshps and for those who live outside the city where the event takes place, Medialab-Prado will cover lodging expenses at a Youth Hostel (Don't forget to specify arrival and departure dates in the application form if your are going to chose this option).
-Medialab-Prado can also give you a document certifiying your participation in the workshop.
-The oportunity to make a public presention of your personal work.
-A lot of fun.

Where can I find information about the projects in which i could collaborate?

At Medialab-Prado website and at the online forums once the project leaders have published it.

What is my commitment if I apply as collaborator?

Once the groups are stablished with the different collaborators, you'll have the commitment to the rest of the group to work on those parts of the project that, according to your skills, knowledge and interests, have been agreed.

Collaborators staying at the Youth Hostel provided by Medialab-Prado will have the commitment to attend the workshop and collaborate with their group during the whole stay.

How and when are the teams of work built?

Groups can start to be built through the online forum, but they will finally be configured after the presentation of projects at the opening of the workshop and during the first days of the workshop.

How is the workshop timetable?

It is an intensive production workshop. Groups will agree their timetable depending on their needs and availability. These workshops don't have a previously defined program, but there are many improvised activities like presentations, mini workshops, debates, performances and parties.

Medialab-Prado space will be open from Monday to Friday from 10:00 until 20:00 hours, Saturdays from 11:00 until 20:00 hours and Sundays from 11:00 until 15:00 hours.

Can I choose in which project I want to collaborate?

Yes, collaborators decide in which team of work they want to take part.

Can I collaborate in more than one project?

Yes, depending on your availability, your skills and needs of the different projects. Anyway we recomend to concentrate in just one project. Two weeks fly!!

Can I participate even I can't stay the whole time of the workshop?

Yes, as soon as it is agreed with the team. Anyway, as much dedication as possible is recommended, since it is an intensive workshop.
