Public Project Presentations

Public presentations of the nine developed projects during these past two weeks of intensive production workshop. Artists and collaborators will introduce their works and will talk about their experience in the workshop.

These collaborativelly developed projects will be on showcase from October 1 through 26, 2008 at Medialab-Prado. The nine installations use the sound and the vast creative field of its intersection with motion picture as a basis of different approaches to reflect about our relations between our senses and our daily context.

Performance Waves to Waves to Waves

Performance by Chris Sugrue (USA) y Damian Stewart (NZ).

Human-generated electromagnetic waves are traveling over, around and through us all the time. Wifi, cellphones, radio, and television broadcast all create electromagnetic fields that are 'loud' compared to the natural background but imperceptible to the human senses.

In waves to waves to waves, several performers use special electromagnetic sniffing devices to explore and capture the signals emanating from the space around them. These devices become musical and visual instruments as the sounds of electromagnetic space are transformed into an audio-visual performance.

Collaborators: Servando Barreiro, Carla Capeto, Mariana Caranza, María José Alós Esperón & Sergio Manuel Galán Nieto.

BRI 2.0 + W_SPACE... @ Experimentaclub08

Two of the projects, Bri 2.0, by Marcel Bilurbina and Raúl Díaz, and W_space..., by Tom Tlalim and Paola Tognazzi, will be part of the Experimentaclub 08 Festival's Showcase of Sound Projects. This exhibition will be open at La Casa Encendida of Madrid from October 2 through 5 (7pm - 22pm). On Thursday, October 2, the official opening will take place at the D Space of La Casa Encendida.
