2nd Inclusiva-net Meeting: Call for Papers (closed)

Purpose of the call

The purpose of this call is the selection of theoretical and research papers around the subject matter of the 2nd Inclusiva-net Meeting, for their public presentation during the event. Descriptive and analytical studies on already finished art projects will also be considered.

The open call is aimed at researchers, curators, artists, educators and any other professionals in any field related to the core topics of the meeting.

Rules for participants

Anyone interested in participating in this call must send a summary of their research and a brief curriculum vitae via the online application form published below. For a better evaluation of the applications, we recommend to send the complete text as an attached file, in addition to the summary.

Proposals may be presented as an individual or as a group. Each participant or team may present as many papers as they wish.

Only texts written in Spanish, English or any other co-oficial language in the state of Spain will be admitted.

Application deadline

The application deadline is 30th January 2008.

Selection process

Selected papers will be announced on the 8th February 2008.

Valuation criteria
  • Adequacy of the research to the core topics of this second Inclusiva-net meeting.
  • Current status of the research process.

Public presentation

Selected works will be presented publicly by their authors throughout the meeting, in 20-minute sessions followed by a 10 minute debate.

Selected works will also be published (Spanish /English) at the Medialab-Prado website. The final versions of the texts must not exceed 7.000 words, and they should be sent before January 30th.

Discussion group

Within the framework of the meeting, a theoretical discussion group will be created to gather all those interested in a debate on the theory around the relations between digital networks and physical space. The aim of this group is to discuss the theory and the critic around artistic, philosophical and social initiatives linked to the subject matter of this meeting. The group is specially aimed at those interested in dealing with the theoretical approach to this issues in depth, specially in the fields of art critic, philosophy, anthropology and education.

Travel and lodging aid

Pending application, Medialab-Prado will provide lodging in a Youth Hostel for participants residing outside of Madrid and will consider the possibility of covering travel expenses wholly or in part, on a case by case basis.

Entry constitutes acceptance of all contest rules.
