This is a space for creative experimentation involving sound art, visual art and performance art based on open and collaborative processes. Its areas of activity are: experimental music, live audio and video processing, video games, media facades, performance art and live performances.

Its main programmes are:

• Experimentation activities and the production of projects based on Medialab Prado's two programmable infrastructures: the Digital Facade and The Thing.

• The AVLAB Meetings programme of talks/concerts held monthly with the aim of offering a forum in which to showcase projects and share the creative process in the fields of experimental music, electroacoustic music, sound art, interactive devices and the processing of live audio and video in general.
