In this webinar Pablo Somonte Ruano introduces their proposal for the Collaborative Prototyping Lab: POCAS - Poca Organización Colaborativa de Auto-servicio, a research project and a LARP that uses economic sci-fi to imagine an autonomous mutualist network in an alternative version of contemporary Mexico City, leveraging distributed computation as a viable competitor to capitalism. The Collaborative Prototyping Lab is a 2-week residency in the framework of Medialab Matadero’s 2025 thematic program LAB 4 Weird Futures. The goal of the residency is to develop 5 prototypes along with its authors and Alex Quicho, Solveig Qu Suess and Joel Blanco as mentors.
